Unyielding and fervent were Valerie’s feelings of love and allegiance to her family, her friends, and her religious community.
Valerie’s heart was filled with a profound faith, and she possessed a great attitude that finally led her along the path of helping the needs of others. Valerie wasn’t just focused on enhancing who she was as a person; she also committed a considerable amount of her time and energy, each and every day, to enhancing the lives of the people in her immediate area. This was something that she did without fail. On February 7, 1961, Beatrice and Stephen Glynn brought their daughter Valerie into the world.
They did it in the city of Kansas City, Missouri, in the state of Missouri. She initially completed her secondary education at St. Teresa’s Academy, where she was awarded her high school certificate. Subsequently, she attended both UMKC and Rockhurst University to further her education. Valerie first met her future husband, J.L., while she was working at the Indian Hills Country Club. J.L. would go on to become Valerie’s spouse of 33 years.
She had a fruitful 31-year career at Nutter Home Loans, during which time she rose through the ranks to become Assistant Vice President of Payoffs and Taxes before deciding to retire from the firm. Val found great satisfaction in tending to her pet dog, Nahla, as well as spending time with her grandchildren and preparing delicious meals in her leisure time. Sunday night dinner with friends was one of her favorite things to do, and Thanksgiving, which was also one of her favorite holidays, was her absolute favorite.
