Thomas Duke Obituary, Death – Monroe Duke lost his fight with cancer on June 28, 2023, after a protracted and ultimately hopeless struggle against the disease. He had been putting up a fight against the illness up until that point, but in the end, he was unable to triumph over it, and it ultimately proved to be fatal. Conyers, Georgia was the only municipality in the state of Georgia that he had ever considered to be his home, and he remained a resident of that city until the day he passed away at the age of 89.
He was the oldest person to ever have lived in Georgia. Before he passed away at the age of 89, he had already reached his full life expectancy of 89 years. He was blessed with a long and fruitful life, living till the ripe old age of 89 years before passing away. He enjoyed a long life filled with good health throughout its entirety. His grandfather, I. S. Duke; his stepmother, Hazel Duke; his first wife, Louise Nix Duke; his second wife, Sandra Phillips Duke; his brothers Doyle Duke, Robert Duke, Wendell Duke, and Boyd Duke; and his stepbrothers, Tony Moore.
His grandmother, Zema Webb Duke; his father, I. S. Duke; his stepmother, Hazel Duke. Before he did, Billy Moore, Charles Moore, his sister Marie Duke Chapman, his stepson Glenn Granade, and his granddaughter Ashley Abbott Lung all passed away. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Mark Beam, Tabatha Duke and Lee Tarlton; his stepson and daughter-in-law, Ken and Trish Granade; his grandchildren, Stacy Beam, Brandon Beam, Chris Granade, Stephanie Dyar, Kelley Granade, and Jeffrey Granade; his great grandchildren, Eli, Hailey, Angelique, Jayden, KC, Bair, and Brooks; as well as his brother and sister Monroe served in the military from 1951 through 1954, during which time he was enlisted.
