Orem UT Motorcycle Accident, 2 Davis County Deputies Dead – Death Cause

Orem UT Motorcycle Accident –  The persons who were killed in a motorbike incident with a pickup truck on Monday afternoon have been identified as being two off-duty deputies with the Davis County Sheriff’s Office. The crash took place in Davis County. Corporal Steven Lewis and Deputy Jennifer Turner were named by officials as the two deputies who were involved. The collision took place just before 4 o’clock on Monday afternoon, when the motorbike was traveling eastbound on South Weber Drive close to 475 East. According to the statements made by the authorities, the rider of the motorbike was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and ended up hitting head-on with a pickup truck after crossing into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in the collision, but both riders on the motorcycle were killed. Turner has been employed with the Davis County Sheriff’s Office since the year 2020, whereas Cpl. Lewis has been a member of the department for more than five years. “The tragic passing of Corporal Steven Lewis and Deputy Jennifer Turner is devastating to all of us,” said Sheriff Kelly V. Sparks in a statement. “Both of them dedicated their lives to serving our community.” Both will be greatly missed as they made a significant contribution to the Sheriff’s Office in the roles that they had. I am aware that they were both thrilled about the prospects of their future together.

Turner has been predeceased by her parents, Daryl and Colette Peterson, as well as her three children, June, Ashlyn, and Bryce. She also has a large number of siblings. Due to the impact that the tragedy has had on the employees at the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, officials have stated that an on-site counselor would be available to provide support “for the foreseeable future.” “We appreciate the outpouring of support from across the state and nation as we grieve not one, but two holes that our DCSO family now has,” authorities stated in a statement. Jennifer and Steve left an indelible mark on a great number of people both at the Sheriff’s Office and in the communities they served. They will not be forgotten. We are aware that this tragedy has had an effect on each and every member of the Sheriff’s Office.

Over the course of his career in law enforcement, Lewis was awarded a great number of commendations and accolades over the years. In addition to that, he was an active member of the Army and served for a total of six years. Robyn and Ralph Lewis, Lewis’s parents, are the ones he leaves behind. Following his graduation from the POST academy in May of 2020, Turner began working for the Davis County Sheriff’s Office. Since that time, Turner has worked in the prisons division, and she is going to be recognized for her “love of helping others and seeing lives changed for the better.”
