Nigel Barwick Obituary, West Tamar Lions Club Exeter Market President Has Died – Death Cause
Nigel Barwick Obituary, Death – Our beloved President Lion Nigel Barwick, who had been facing an illness for a time, has died away. He had been battling the sickness for a short period. We ask his family and friends to kindly accept our deepest condolences in this time of loss. The vast majority of those who worked at booths during Market Days would remember Nigel as the acidic individual who sat at the Winkleigh Road gate on those days. During that time, Nigel was known for his caustic demeanor.
He was the son of the late Samuel E. Metzger and Lois (Sponsler) Metzger, and he was born in Roaring Spring. Surviving family members include his son Trevor D. Metzger and his wife Rachael, as well as his grandson Henry Wilson Metzger, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his sister Nancy L. Baker and her husband Gary, of rural Martinsburg; his brother Stephen C. Metzger and his wife Marsha, of Roaring Spring; and his fiancée Angela M. “Angie” Armolt. Dave’s nieces and nephews are also going to miss having him around.
A committed (and biassed) sports fan of Central High School (Go Dragons), Penn State University (Fight on State), and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Here We Go). An active golfer (liked his “Bandits” and his visits to Ocean City and Myrtle Beach), as well as a fan of golf.Dave was a follower of the protestant religion, and he had attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring in the past. Samuel E. Metzger and Nelson D. Metzger were Dave’s two brothers who passed away before him.
