Born as the eighth of nine children to Laurence and Irma Whelan, Peggy’s early years were filled with the warmth of a large and loving family.
She attended St. Ann’s grade school, where she grew up surrounded by the teachings of faith, kindness, and compassion. As she progressed through her education, Peggy’s potential became evident, leading her to graduate from Girls Central High in the Class of ’57, where she nurtured lifelong friendships.
