John Kowatch Obituary Pewamo MI, John Kowatch Has Passed Away

John Kowatch Obituary, Death –On August 2, 2023, at the age of 76, John Roman Kowatch, who resided in Pewamo, Michigan, passed away while he was at peace and surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo, where he was baptized and raised after his birth on June 15, 1947 to parents Leo and Sarah (Miller) Kowatch. On October 7, 1967, John wed Mary Lee Thelen, the girl he had a crush on during their time in high school. They were happily married for a total of 55 years.

John placed a high priority on the quality of the relationships in his life, and he ensured that he always had time to talk to whoever stopped by the house. He had a wry sense of humor and was never too busy to lend a listening ear before imparting wise knowledge or a bit of guidance. He was always willing to help. He had a gentle and modest demeanor. He was self-sacrificing in the sense that he constantly put the requirements of others ahead of his own as an act of real love and generosity.

John had the guts to embrace his affliction on earth, as well as a profound and persistent awareness that affliction is an inevitable aspect of existence. He was a devout guy who said the Holy Rosary every day and was known for his deep dedication to the recitation of the prayer. In addition to this, John spent a significant amount of time serving in a variety of lay ministries during the course of his adult life. He devoted a lot of his time and energy to the ministry that took place inside the jail, where he spent many years sharing the gospel and drawing inmates closer to Christ.

John was really grateful for all of the assistance that he received during the many years that he struggled with his disease. He gained a tremendous amount of strength from every prayer, card, visit, phone call, and well-wish that was offered up for him. He was kept going thanks to the attention and support given to him by other people.

John and Mary Lee eventually took over and expanded the dairy farm operation that was located on the homestead. John Lee felt a sense of accomplishment after putting in a hard day’s work on the farm. John was an excellent custodian of the land and manager of the animals that he owned. John started a second job after he retired from dairy farming and worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for a total of 22 years.

Everyone who knew John will remember him as a man who had a clear understanding of how to prioritize the various aspects of his life. He lived a life of devotion as a son, spouse, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was also a devout Catholic. He has a unique talent that allowed him to build close relationships with other people that lasted for a significant amount of time. John was a natural leader and friend to many others, in addition to the members of his immediate family.
