Elizabeth Hammer Obituary, Death Cause – It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Elizabeth Hammer, a beloved soul who graced us with her presence for 97 years. Elizabeth peacefully departed this world on August 7, 2023, in Taylorsville, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Alexander, North Carolina, she touched the lives of many and will forever remain in our hearts. Elizabeth’s journey was one marked by a deep connection to family and community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stoney Burke and Ollie Colvert Burke, her devoted husband Henry Hammer, her son Harold Hammer, her daughter-in-law Martha Hammer, and her precious grandchildren, Harold Joel Hammer, Ramie Smith, and John Hammer. Reuniting with her in the embrace of eternity are her siblings Mary Lou Wike (Joe), Margaret Elder (Jay), Bud Burke (Jeanette), and Woodrow Burke (Wilma).

Among the lives Elizabeth touched, she is survived by her children, Debbie Hammer and Tommy Hammer (Margaret), who carry her spirit forward. Her presence will continue to be felt through her adoring grandchildren: Jesse Hammer, Jarrod Hammer (Angel), Joshua Smith, Jeff Hammer, Steve Hammer (Diana), and Heather Smith. Her legacy extends to her great-grandchildren: Evan Elder (Taylor), Maddox, Hagen, Payton, Macey, Chelsea, Allison, Madison, Katie, Josie, and Colton. Elizabeth’s influence even reaches her great-great-grandchildren: Riley, Paislee, and Teagan, who will grow up hearing stories of her enduring love.

Aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, Elizabeth’s caring nature knew no bounds.
