David Griffith Obituary, Former OIC Woodwind Instructor Has Died – Death
David Griffith Obituary, Death – KGS, Westray, Dounby, Glaitness, and Papdale, in addition to Stromness Academy and Westray. These schools are located in Shetland. David had either conducted or played in the band for innumerable pantomimes and musicals, in addition to performing with the Orkney Orchestra, the Orkney Camerata, and a great deal of other community ensembles. He was perfectly at home on the concert stage as well as in the orchestra pit of a theater.
In addition to being in command of a large number of authority Big Bands and Wind Bands, David was also in charge of leading smaller community ensembles. In addition to that, he was the conductor of a number of other ensembles. If you would want to pay your respects to David during the funeral service that will be held at St. Magnus Cathedral on Wednesday, August 9 at noon, you are more than welcome to do so. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 9.

This performance came after the band was adjudicated favorably in November 2018 and qualified for the 2019 Scottish Concert Band Championships.
We are deeply saddened to inform you that David Griffith, a former OIC woodwind instructor, passed away at his home in the early morning hours of Wednesday. Our hearts are filled with sadness at the news of his demise. We will not release any of this information to the public until we have received permission to do so from the Griffith family. Beginning in 1989 and continuing his employment there until 2022, David was a member of the OIC Instrumental Music Service.
