Bill Blackburn Obituary, Death – Bill E. Blackburn, age 81, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 9:43 p.m. in the comfort of his own home in Decatur, Georgia. He was a resident of Georgia. He lived in the state of Georgia at the time. Bill Blackburn, the son of Edward and Helen (Sanders) Blackburn, was born on September 19, 1941 in the city of Terre Haute, which is located in the state of Indiana. During the period that the United States was engaged in the Vietnam War, Bill was a proud member of the United States Navy and served his country with distinction.
As soon as he reached the point in his life where he was unable to continue working, he handed in his resignation as Vice President of Decatur Container. Because he enjoyed golf so much, he had been a member of the South Side Country Club for the better part of forty years and had been a member at that location for a good number of years. Bill was a passionate skier who thoroughly enjoyed the sport. In the past, he had been chairman of the Crimestoppers Board, a coach for boys’ baseball in the Garfield Park league, and a coach for games played in the Junior Football League.
All of these positions had been held by him. At one point in time, the American Legion Post 105 and the VFW Post 99 both recognized him as a member of their respective organizations. He and his wife had a lot of fun doing things together like fishing and going on vacations. They spent a lot of quality time together. The wedding took place in a chapel on December 23, 1960, and the happy couple’s names are now officially “Bill and Frances C. Borgman.
” He had achieved the rank of 32nd-degree Mason and was a member of the Stephene Decatur Lodge #99, as well as the Ansar Shrine and the Scottish Rite Consistory. In addition to that, he was a member of the Scottish Rite. In addition to that, he was active in the affairs of the Scottish Rite Consistory and participated in its activities.
